Beginning Story of the World: McLegends

Long ago in the land we now know, there lived a beautiful goddess known only as Karia, ruler of the ancient heavens. She would the most beautiful stars and galaxies in the heavens for she was a star herself except she was the brightest of them all. One day she created a new star, One day though, she grew lonely after many eons of being alone. In response to this she created a star that was just like her named Zanthos.

With a new child Karia would teach him everything she knew. However Karia had a rule, her only rule was that Zanthos could not create life like she had done with him. For much time, Zanthos followed this rule. One day though, out of sheer boredom he created life, but not wanting his mother to find out about it he hid this life in small beings on a small rock that he had caused life to pulsate through. Thus on that day he created us and our world.

After many eras passed, the life had developed into very intricate and technological being and wanting to see his children he came down to our world disguised as one of us to receive his praise for what he created. However we he arrived on our world no one recognized him. Not only did they not recognize him they also completely disregard him. Attempting to take credit for his work he was immediately belittled then beaten by his creations and left to lie dead underground.

Filled with all of the fury and vengeance in himself he angrily returned to the heavens and plagued our lands with disease, famine, fire, natural disasters, and horrible creatures who would destroy our lands as well as murder our people before finally planning to destroy the life he created once and for all. However before he could deliver the final destructive blow that would have ended us all, his mother found him with all this life he created.

She stopped him from destroying all of us and sent all of the evil creatures he created underground where they could harm no one and punished him by shrinking him and dimming him for his evil immature actions. Feeling sorry for us decided to leave us alone to develop as long as we worshipped her. When we agreed to do so, she began to watch over us every day.

Unfortunately she could not do this constantly for she had to manage the rest of the universe so every day she would leave us to her son. Knowing that he would receive further punishment if he decided to destroy us all, he decided to simply plague us with our dead by reanimating them, thus ironically ending us with more life, as he watched them torment us, but when his mother returned he would fly off as she returned to burn away all of the undead creatures that returned to harm us. And to this day, this cycle continues.

Every morning Karia watches over us and protects us from Zanthos, but when she leaves Zanthos returns to torment us another night. Forever locked in the battle between Life and Death until the end of us.

As it stands now this goes somewhat against the story I had planned, but it still holds a good lore to it. I will definitely go more in-depth with what can be done with this!

I'm trying to write story lines for quests... I'm starting with the tutorial quests and working my way from there. Also thank you man. That really means a lot...

It would seem I developed a small case of insomnia, likely inspired by Graven's example of being immune to sleep while creating his wonders and works of art; in my state of half-sleep I created this, but keep in mind this is merely a suggestion. Regardless here is a small add on to what MaJetiGizzle presented, enjoy.

Mythology:

Karia - Over Goddess.
Zanthos - Fallen God, son of Karia.
Velras - Goddess of Pestilence and disease, created when the blood of Zanthos was spilled by his creations.
Tulo - God of rain and storms, born of the tears of Karia.
Solitiarothel - Goddess of the sun, born from Karia's wrath.
Lunirothel - God of the moon, born from Zanthos agony in his defeat.

Karia - Wise and all knowing, she governs fairness and justice; she is wrathful and prone to quickly quelling issues that affect her directly, yet in the terms of Zanthos' children she prefers to watch them solve their own problems. She is widely surrounded in mystery, and is the only one of the divines whom the humans worship. The other gods are merely the result of Karia's punishment of Zanthos, yet she is very much intrigued at their creation and allows them to fulfill their duties.

Zanthos - The result of Karia growing lonely, she taught Zanthos everything she knew yet prohibited him from creating life; after some time, he also grew lonely or perhaps bored, and thus created human kind. The story is well known, as he tried to walk among his creations but was struck down by them, and in his wrath his blood formed Velras, a goddess who plagued his creations with mortality and a threat of death. After being punished by Karia, he created many evil entities to plague his children, daring to not destroy them entirely for fear of the Over Goddess.

Velras - Impassive towards any and all forms of life, she spreads disease and pestilence in the unclean places of the world, though she prefer to be mostly inactive, choosing only to strike when she feels it is appropriate to do so. She is the most patient of the divine, waiting and creating new forms of decay and desolation to ensure the mortality of all living creatures. She is known for being the source that decides who lives or dies, allowing no creature an eternal existence save for the rest of the Divine.

Tulo - His storms and rain wash the world clean of many of Velras' attacks against mankind, allowing the life-giving water to fall upon them and restore their health. Rain allows the world to grow and allows the humans to prosper and exist. It is unknown what traits he bestows upon the creatures of the world.

Solitiarothel - She is Karia's escort and follows in her wake as she returns during the day, she is known also for her ability to bestow loyal and honorable traits to humans or dwarves of her choosing. He was created when Karia discovered what Zanthos had done, and his coming brought warmth to the people who previously required fire to sustain their heat.

Lunirothel - Ever present, the god of the moon watches the world with a timeless gaze but is only visible at night. He is known for bestowing mysterious traits to many, as well as giving others an affinity for trickery or deceit. Lunirothel is the most mischievous and active of the Gods, often setting many tricks or traps during the night to interfere with adventurer's, but his rewards are always handsome should his victims solve his puzzle or survive his traps.

Insomnia HAH! Don't we all have it. I did not read what you had written just yet. However before you bounce idea's off of this, I'll need to talk to you and tell you the direction I'm planning to go. Sorry it truly is late and I've finally reached my limit for the night.
